This website is run by Home Comfort Assured Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 08464899), with its registered office at 33 Granville Road, Watford WD18 0AH.

We are the data controller for the information described below.
What we collect and why
When you fill in our contact form. We ask for your name, phone number, and optionally your email address, your address, the type of work you need and any details you want to give us. We use this only to reply to your enquiry, to quote for work, and to carry out that work if you go ahead.
Our lawful basis is that we need this information to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and that we have a legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about our services.
When you visit the site. We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the website, for example which pages they read and which searches brought them here. This tells us what to improve. It is not used to identify you personally and we do not use it for advertising. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our website.
When you call or email us directly. We keep a record of the conversation and any details you give us so we can carry out the work and keep proper records.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not pass it to other companies for their marketing.
We do use two suppliers who handle data on our behalf:
- Web3Forms, which delivers the contact form to our inbox
- Google, which provides the analytics described above and the map on our contact page
If we need to bring in another engineer or a supplier to complete your job, we will only share what they need to do that work.
We may also share information where the law requires it, for example with HMRC, or with Gas Safe Register in connection with the safety records we are obliged to keep.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work: 2 years.
Customer records, including job details, invoices and gas safety records: 6 years, which reflects the period we may need them for tax purposes and in case of any later dispute or warranty claim.
Analytics data is kept by Google for 14 months and is not linked to your name or contact details.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device.
Analytics cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies to work out whether you are a new or returning visitor and which pages you look at. These are not needed for the website to work. If you would rather they were not set, you can block them in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Google Maps. The map on our contact page is provided by Google and may set cookies when it loads.
Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to object to how we are using it, and to ask us to restrict how we use it.
Email info@homecomfortassured.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, on 0303 123 1113, or at Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
